You have just entered the most important month of the year for raising your income and, in time, for starting to increase your professional status at work. All parts of your chart will work together to help you, so if you’ve been frustrated with how your finances look, with a little effort, this month could mark a change for the better.
At the start of the month, you have a friendly new moon, September 8, which will appear in your second house of earned income. You only get one a year, and it sets the tone for the twelve months to come. This new moon will be your signal to ask for a raise or to see what other positions in your industry are opening that you might aim for by making the right moves. Mercury is the ruler of this second house of income, and this planet will receive a particularly sweet beam from Pluto at the time of the new moon from your house of work projects. This means that if you are self-employed, or are an artist or actor, a special assignment may now come up that will prove to be very lucrative. If you are not self-employed but work for others, this new moon may help you get a very special one-time assignment that everyone in your department wants, but that the boss feels should only be handled by you. If you want a part time job or moonlight with a second job, you can get the right side job and it would be interesting and well-paying. Now that’s good news! In terms of getting an important new position that represents more responsibility and a bigger title, you may have to wait until November to capture that job. Venus is the natural ruler of your tenth house of profession but Venus is about to go retrograde next month, from October 8 to November 18. This would not be the best time to make a career move, so be patient. Besides, Jupiter will be retrograde until, ironically, the same day, November 18, too. You would be best to bide your time. Jupiter rules profit, so whether you are employed or self-employed, you will be in the best shape in your career by late November. That’s not to say you shouldn’t look for ways to increase your income now - you should. It’s just that your methods of increasing the gold coins in your coffers will come in through assignments, and not the traditional way, by winning a better job and bigger title. Not yet anyway - all things will come in due time, and for you, the money comes now, the title comes in November. Your ability to get the attention of VIPs will be enhanced by the move of Mars into your tenth house of fame and honors, from September 14 to October 28. Mars will very effectively help you lay the groundwork for your ascent in November. Why November? In order to grasp the prize spot, you will also need the help of Jupiter turning direct on November 18 and moving close to Uranus (both working to improve your finances further) and the full moon, November 21, to crystallize all your efforts and get you the final offer. Leading up to November, your key professional month, you will also have help in early October, when Venus will work closely with Mars, boosting your reputation to all-time highs. As you see, you have half the solar system working for you! Interesting positions of responsibility take time to be awarded, for they often require a lot of interviews. If you start your career campaign a few days after the new moon September 8, you will be in sync with the universe. You’ve really a beautiful chart for career success, so be patient until all the pieces of your puzzle are in place, on or near November 21. Ironically, in the USA, Thanksgiving falls on November 24, just three days later and well within the plus or minus four days area of influence that comes with any full moon. If you are American and celebrate Thanksgiving, you will have lots of news to share with family and friends at the table as the Thanksgiving turkey is sliced and served, and lots to be thankful for, too. Keep this thought in mind, dear Leo. You are moving into exciting, very positive times. At the start of this month, keep in mind Mercury will be retrograde, a holdover from August that will continue until September 12. There’s some evidence that you may need to sign an agreement or contract (I will come back to this idea later) and if so, you must wait until after Mercury goes direct mid-month to make the deal work. In the first half of September, perfect your strategy and do some deep thinking. In the second half, you can start to initiate plans. Mercury is retrograde in your financial house, so if checks to you have been running late, you now know why - blame Mercury. You will see those checks show up in the second half of September, but keep sending follow-up “second notice” statements anyway. It can’t hurt to do so! Overall, your financial outlook has never been better. For almost three years you had to deal with Saturn in your second house of income, and Saturn is known to limit all that it touches. The last new moons in your income sector in 2008 and 2009 had a heavy Saturn presence, so if you found it hard to raise your income, that would be understandable. Saturn was holding sway over your chart, and no matter what you did, it was hard to see a substantial rise in income. That problem has been resolved now that Saturn moved into another part of your chart in late July. Saturn will no longer contain your abilities to increase your income. Saturn showed you how to do more with less, and over the past three years you learned those lessons well. As Sophie Tucker, a songstress / actor (1884-1966) once said, “I’ve been rich and I’ve been poor. Rich is better.” I bet you agree. There’s more help on the way, too. Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, is heading back to your eighth house of credit and financial obligations on September 9 and will be orbiting close to Uranus already there, so soon you should see an up-tick in your financials. Here’s a key date that may bring big financial news to celebrate: September 18, when Jupiter (generosity) and Uranus (surprises) link. This day is so strongly favored for you that I will even suggest you buy a charity raffle ticket or a scratch-off lotto ticket. You need a contest that chooses the prize September 18. Don’t spend much, though - your luck will stem from a source you would never expect. Be happy, dear Leo, because I suspect good news will come and find you one way or another, even if you do nothing but hide under the bed. I wish I could say this month won’t have even one little cloud in the sky, but it will, on September 21, when Uranus, now back in Pisces, will oppose the Sun. At that time, both financial houses will be brought into the conversation. It’s remarkable your best financial day (September 18) would be followed by the hardest one (September 21) and I am sorry to have to report this. On this day, September 21, a completely unexpected expense or piece of news could jolt you. Alternatively, it could also be that someone you trusted is going back on their word to you and not delivering the money you expected after all. Your ruling star, the Sun, involved here tells me that you will notice this day, so keep your guard up until you get past September 21. Dear Leo, I promise these types of days are on their way out. Once you get to March, Uranus will be out of your financial solar eighth house for the rest of your life (yes!), and you will be done, done, done with these kinds of perpetual adverse surprises with money. Are you skeptical? Uranus takes 84 years to circle the Sun, so it won’t be back to your eighth house of “other people’s money” including credit, taxes, loans, and the like ever again in your life. To balance the strong emphasis on your public life, money, and career this month, Mars will begin to energize your home and family life from September 14 to October 28. You will see more developments in November, too, but Mars will give you lots of enthusiasm to start your project now (after September 24) with passion and vigor. No matter what your desire - to move, renovate, decorate, paint, or make repairs - you can do it more easily now, finding better options than those you found before. Keep those dates in mind! Now let’s look at your communication house, which will be brimming with energy too, a trend that’s been going on since late August that will expand by next month in October. With Mars in your third house of communication close to Venus September 1-14, your words will be effective and even poetic, and your charm will be able to rally nations to your cause. You can now prove you have the power of pen and speech - use it well! One little caveat: you may find that your assignments require more time to complete than you had estimated. It would be best to get them done in September, so don’t be tempted to ask for extensions that run into October. More assignments will come up then, and you will want to take them. Travel is a big option this month for you too, for Mars in the third house will encourage you to travel here and there, in quick short trips that are lots of fun. Your trips will be delicious because Mars will be traveling with Venus, sure to spice things up! On the weekend of September 4, both Venus and Mars will be in perfect angle to Neptune, quite a glamorous vibration. September 4 is likely to be a very special romantic night, especially if you’re on the road not too far from home with your partner. The full moon September 23 is likely to be a happy one too, and this time if you travel, you may cover a greater distance than you did earlier in the month. This full moon falls in Aries, a fellow fire sign, and is filled with adventure. It would be a great time to plan a trip to see wild animals (something exotic!) or to do sightseeing travel abroad to a city completely new to you. Even if you can’t quite swing a trip to Tokyo, San Paolo, or Istanbul, you may be able to go to a foreign city close by such as, for example, (if you live in the US) to nearby but stunning Montreal or Mexico City. This full moon on September 23 will fall at 0 degrees Aries, quite an energetic degree! Jupiter and Uranus will be very close, so you may hop a plane quite spontaneously. You’d love the accommodations - Jupiter will see to it that you are in a beautiful room that feels luxurious. Actually, everything about this trip should bring good news, so if you do get a chance to go, do! You may travel at the full moon to see family, or you may need to give a speech, be a guest on TV, or meet with an editor or producer. A book you wrote may be translated into another language. The theme of communication and the distribution of information you have to give will still be strong at this full moon too, so that could be a reason that causes you to take your trip. Another possibility is that you will be interviewing with college or graduate school officials to decide on which institutions you’ll apply to for further study in an upcoming semester. Or, it may be that you get news that you are approved for a green card, visa, or citizenship. Exciting! If you were born within four days of July 23, you will feel the energy of this full moon very directly - and you’ll benefit from it, too. The month ends on a somber note. On September 30, Saturn will conjunct the Sun, and because the Sun is your ruler, this day has many possible outcomes. You may feel a bit tired and in need of rest, or a man in your life could be feeling under the weather or a little depressed and you will be needed to assist him. This person could be your father. The Sun is always indicative of a prominent male, so if it is not your father, husband, boyfriend, or boss, it’s a client or someone else who plays a prominent role in your life. On the other hand, another way things could manifest on September 30 is that you may receive a phone call, email, or text that makes you feel deflated or sensitive to something someone has written to you. Take whatever feedback you get on this day with the spirit that it will only make you better. In two days you will feel like your old self again and perhaps you can use what you hear to course correct. It’s a good day to address any dental concern or those related to bones. Any decisions you make on September 30 will be permanent, for Saturn will see to it. Knowing this, be sure you like the terms of the agreement as you will live with it a very long time, possibly forever. You have a lot on your plate this month! I am wondering how you can possibly fit it all in! I know you are thinking, “What about love?” Gee, can you find the time, dear Leo? Ha, ha, Leo can ALWAYS find the time for love! What a silly question! In answer to your question, it seems that love flourishes best when you are traveling, especially over the weekend of September 4. Jupiter rules your solar fifth house of new love, so if you don’t have someone in your life, your efforts may be rewarded more after Jupiter turns to stronger, speedier orbit November 18. Still, you need not wait that long - consider giving a party October 2 or 3, when Venus and Mars conjoin in your house of home. (You can’t give your party in a club or restaurant to have Venus and Mars to work their magic. It HAS to be at your home.) I thought I would give you the heads up on this now, so you can plan your party in late September! Here are your best dates for fun and love in September to find love or to fan the fires of present love: September 4, 5, 6, 17-18 and 28. Summary The month opens with an opportunity to increase your cash flow substantially. As soon as the new moon arrives September 8, make a concerted effort to investigate any financial opportunities that emerge. You’ve struggled a long time with adverse financial conditions that sprang up out of the blue more often than you’d like to admit. Take the chance you get now to increase your steady income while the universe smiles on you. Financial negotiations involving matters of credit, division of property, child support, venture capital, and insurance payouts will also go well now that Jupiter, the good fortune planet, will re-enter your eighth house of other people’s money September 9. On your best day for financial news, September 18, you might even win a raffle, thanks to the conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus. News you get this day is sure to make you excited! Yet aspects this month will be complicated. Just three days later, on September 21, Uranus will oppose the Sun, a very separating vibration, often denoting an ending or hurtful argument, possibly with a client or boss. Again finances will be the topic but this time results won’t be so cheery. Or, it may be that you won’t be getting paid money you expected, or that you get a big expense. Avoid this day for big presentations and interviews. Something is likely to come up - wear your armor so that you are not broadsided. Mercury, planet of intellect, will be still moving retrograde in your financial sector as the month opens, but will speed ahead on September 12. From mid-month on, you’ll see the pace will pick up. Delays and glitches will fade away and you will feel that life has returned to normal. Wait until the second half to make hard-and-fast decisions that affect your income and outgo. Do not purchase expensive items, especially not electronic devices or machines with moving parts, as Mercury retrograde suggests your gadget or other item may not operate properly or not bring the pleasure you anticipate. Your home and family will become a big priority as soon as Mars visits Scorpio from September 14 to October 28. After that, the new moon November 6 in your house of home and family will help you create even more momentum. It seems clear September through December will be your time to settle all home-and-family related plans and concerns, and you’ll love the results you create! Leo has a wonderful sense of style - it seems you’ll be ready to show it off! The month ends when your ruler, the Sun, will meet with taskmaster-teacher planet Saturn on September 30. You may have to face the consequences of a decision you make then (or did some time ago) that appears to have gone wrong. This episode could turn out to be what others would call “a teachable moment.” Life can be that way sometimes, but as a result, you will be all the wiser and able to avoid similar situations in the future. In a month that holds all sorts of experiences, both good and not so good, see if you can squeeze in a bit of travel. You might take a long weekend off in the first week of September when you will have Venus and Mars stirring up plenty of fun on journeys taken to locations not too far from home. With Venus moving close to Mars as you go along through September, romance could easily be sparked on your travels - whether with someone new or by encouraging more love with the one you’re with now. Later, on the full moon, September 23 (plus or minus five days), you may also leave town, but this time you would travel a greater distance. No matter what your reason for travel, business or pleasure, you will find accommodations to beautiful, even quite plush. Go - you won’t be roughing it, that’s for sure. Dates to Note: You will have a superb chance to raise your income after the new moon on September 8. Try for a raise or pitch new business. Mercury will retrograde in your financial house until September 12, so hold off making firm decisions until after this date. Another sign your finances are looking up is that Jupiter will be in Pisces as of September 9. A wonder day for money could be September 17-18. Your home may become a major focus once Mars enters your fourth house on September 14 until October 28. Strike now - you can fix things up! A wonderful trip may start or end near the full moon September 23 (plus or minus five days). A slew of difficult days will mark month’s end - the first and perhaps hardest will be September 21. Communication will be difficult. Prepare for an arduous, possibly depressing day, September 30. Travel will not be easy either. Your most romantic dates include September 4, 5, 6, 17-18, and 28. This month, start planning a fun party at your home to give over the weekend of October 2-3!
