April should be a happy month for you! With SIX planets visiting you in fellow fire sign Aries, all sending loving kisses to your sign, you are about to enjoy rare favor. All the planets will be in Aries, which enjoys adventure, pioneering, and experimentation, so this won’t likely be “any old month” but will bring in new and special elements. This will be an exciting time for you, and because many of the planets invited to this Aries party will want to continue to hang out together next month, May is shaping up as quite extraordinary for you, too!

Packed into one small space in the heavens in April will be Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, the Sun, and new moon, April 3. This will be a rare crown of stars unlike any you’ve seen in recent years. This build-up of energy in your solar ninth house will certainly focus your attention on distant places or on relationships with people in foreign countries.

It is possible that you might not have to leave home at all to enjoy the energy in the air, if, say, you are working with someone on a long-term project abroad, for you may be able to do all from your desk. You may be asked to become a contributing editor to a magazine abroad, or your book may be translated into other languages. You may be working on an import-export idea or you may consider living or studying abroad. The point is, foreign people and places will take on a huge emphasis this month for you. The new associations and ventures that you put in place now could carry you forward for years into the future.

Mercury will be retrograde throughout the month, from March 30 to April 23, so you would need to take extra precautions. If you travel, have maps and all the proper paperwork for your trip, including passports and visas. It’s easy to become forgetful when Mercury is retrograde, so make sure you have everything you need. If you want to use your cell phone abroad, call your carrier for an international plan, and pack your cell phone and computer charger, too. Double-check the address and get good driving instructions to get there. While Mercury is retrograde, it is always wise to check everything, including your appointments, especially as you get closer to the date of takeoff.

It will be vital that you NOT make any final agreements for a new position or venture, or even give verbal consent to any proposal, deal, or offer until after April 23. You can work on ongoing projects that were started earlier (even in March) but not new ones. April 23 is the date Mercury goes direct, and I would even prefer you leave a little space around that date. I say aim for April 27, a very good day for you to begin new projects. On April 27, Pluto will signal the Sun, and that’s your ruling star, making for an exceptionally fine day. Even better would be the new moon, May 3, a glorious time for Leo!

These planets stacked in your ninth house at the start of April might alternatively get you thinking about going for an advanced degree at a university. Colleges generally send out admission letters now, in early April, and you may be excited to see you were invited to attend your favorite institution. If you were turned down in one and are disappointed, ask officials to reconsider your application. If you feel you are qualified, you should take this extra step. This month, with Mercury retrograde, decisions can be changed, sometimes to your favor. Ask your guidance counselor (if you have one) for help.

Publishing and broadcasting ventures glitter, too. If you dream of writing a book or screenplay, or want to debut your own blog, you can make moves soon to make it a reality. You can have talks and send query letters, but realize that after Mercury goes direct, you have a better chance of success.

Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, is still in your ninth house, ruling all the things you and I have been discussing together - travel and adventure, higher education, and publishing/broadcasting. Jupiter has been in this house since last January and you still have two more months before Jupiter will leave. Once Jupiter moves on, he will not to return to this area of your chart for 12 years. Until now you’ve not had the right new moon and help from other planets, but now you do. Make the most of them! You must plan in the first three weeks of April and be ready to roll at the last week.

It would be wise to scan listings to find the bargain travel package of your dreams, for with your fortunate aspects, you are likely to find it fairly easily! Think about visiting a foreign country you’ve never seen, for the aspects that are on tap will be coaxing you to travel far and wide and to be inspired by what you see. Later your career will take much more of your time and attention, so while you can travel for any reason, do!

On April 6, Jupiter will combine with the Sun, setting off the luckiest day of the year. The fact that the Sun is involved is important, because the Sun rules Leo. While everyone will like this configuration, you will enjoy it more - this is your ruler involved! Still, the moon is “void” on April 6, which means she won’t be speaking to any of the other planets that day and will shut down for a rest. Anything you schedule on April 5 will come to nothing much, so to enjoy the goodness of April 6, you will need to circle the day before - April 5.

April 5 is your new luckiest day of the year. Energy will still be building to a lovely high point and meetings you have on this day should go exceedingly well. If you find you are thinking about international matters, travel, academia, or publishing or broadcasting ventures, you’ll be doubly pleased. All these areas will shimmer like gold for you.

The new moon will appear on April 3 and set off the energy of all the planets now and all the areas I just listed. This new moon this month will come with very conflicting messages and aspects, so you’ll have to manage the energy, but if you stay alert, you should be pleased with the way things turn out. I will talk about those conflicting messages now.

The new moon will first meet with Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck. This is a sign of just how wonderful things could be for you if you investigate what is possible for you. Jupiter will broaden your thinking and make you more accepting of various cultural and political points of view. You’ll be curious now, and hungry to know more about the world around you. Jupiter also rules the court system, so if you are involved in a legal case and meeting with your lawyer (or having your day in court) on or near April 3-5, then you will like what you hear.

Uranus is now in your ninth house, too, for the first time in your life. That’s a big statement, but to explain, it takes Uranus 84 years to circle the zodiac (and the Sun), so once this big planet that rules unexpected developments arrives in a house, he stays for approximately seven years. Uranus first entered your ninth house last month on March 11, and will remain until 2019! Uranus shows where you’ll be getting your main stimulation and surprise in the years ahead, and for you that will be through travel and study, international relationships, publishing, and broadcasting ventures. (If you are a screenwriter, this says, “television,” not “movies,” which would be helpful to know.)

Mars is also moving through this ninth house area that you and I have been discussing here, and Mars will give you the motivation and drive to try new things. You’ll feel energized and optimistic, making this an extra good time to travel. Mars will link to Uranus on April 3, the same day as the new moon, so you may fly away spontaneously, without too much notice, perhaps for business. If you are traveling by car for a long road trip, make sure your vehicle is in perfect condition before you leave. Uranus in conjunction with Mars (April 3) could bring unexpected mechanical problems, so it would be a good idea to schedule a tune up before you go.

At the same time as the new moon, Saturn will be opposed to the Sun and moon, making things a bit arduous if you travel for business. You may find everything takes a bit longer than you expect, or you may encounter small glitches to work out that you don’t expect. The hours may be long, too, so try to allot extra time to your trip, as you will need it to sort things out once there.

If you are a Leo born August 6 plus or minus four days, you will feel the affects of the new moon most, and benefit most from it. It will have a dramatic effect!

You will have a full moon on April 17, in another part of the chart that rules travel, so again you may be on the road. This time, you would more likely travel closer to home. This full moon has more friendly planets surrounding it, so it should be easier to experience.

It is also possible you will hear from your sibling at the full moon, perhaps because she or he has news, or because you were planning to do something together. If so, things will come to fruition at this time. It would be a great time to schedule a reunion, say, for your parents, or to see friends you’ve not seen in a long time.

This third house, highlighted by the full moon April 17, also rules agreements, so there’s a good chance you will be asked to sign papers within four days of this date (the area of influence of all full moons). Even if papers are ready, you must not sign anything until AFTER April 23, the date Mercury goes direct. Any deal you make while Mercury is retrograde will need to be redone later, for you will not have full information about conditions surrounding the deal quite yet. If you sign too soon, you will likely regret doing so. Also, don’t buy anything expensive, such as a house, a car, a new computer, or smartphone, for you may have problems with the product later if you do, or you may not enjoy your purchase for some other reason. Delay things until April 27, a far better day for you this month.

If you are a Leo with a birthday that falls on August 20, you will find the full moon affects you more, so stay alert. Something important is coming to culmination.

Your career is about to show amazing fireworks in May and beyond, but you should spend some time this month getting your resume, CV, portfolio, or reel ready. Some spectacular things are on the way, dear Leo. That’s another reason I would like you to travel in April rather than May - too many things are going to pop for you next month, starting the moment the month takes off!

This month, your most creative day will be April 20 when the Sun and Neptune will have a conversation - about you! Ideas will come raining down on you easily, so set aside time to experiment!

Financially your outlook is better than ever too, now that Uranus, the planet of alternating current and unpredictable events, is out of your eighth house of joint financial matters. Your outlook is really bright, so be optimistic!

Romantically, with so many planets in your travel and exploration sector this month, it seems logical that you’d find your most romantic moments occur away from home. If you can go overseas, I urge you to do so sooner than later. Once Jupiter leaves Aries on June 4, your stars won’t be nearly as bright for an exciting voyage - go now! Venus will enter Aries on April 21 through May 15, adding on another layer of glamour to any trip you take.

If you can’t go far because other obligations are keeping you home, you might be able to go to a sweet bed and breakfast nearby, over April 16-17, the full moon weekend. That would be a wonderful time to go, for it would give you just the right breathing space from everyday cares to enjoy the one you love - or find someone new.

Travel and exploration will be written all over your chart in April, and with the weather so fair, why stay home? Foreign people and places will be very fortunate for you now, so you may decide to work in the international arena, perhaps by opening - or expanding - an import-export business. You can use these vibrations for fun, too, and if so, with planets in adventuresome, daring Aries, you will want to explore an exotic location new to you. Trips for business or pleasure taken to nearby locations won’t be quite as fortunate, so look at Internet listings and find a foreign package.

Still, keep in mind if you do travel for business or sports, with Saturn opposed to the Sun on April 3, it may be easy to overdo or expect too much of yourself. Pace yourself - you are only human.

Aries, the sign where six heavenly bodies will be in April, is a highly athletic sign, so you may even decide that instead of sightseeing you’d rather opt for an athletic vacation involving rock climbing, white water rafting, or participation in a foreign competition like a marathon for which you’ve been training for months. Are you hoping to get a passport or Visa? You can settle everything this month, quite easily.

If you can’t travel, you will be unusually creative and excited about life nevertheless, and you’ll be unusually hungry to learn new things. Open yourself up to new vistas. Your ideas will have wide scope and would inspire others, so share them bravely! You will have six planets in Aries supporting your every move, and people will want to hear what you have to say.

If you applied to college or grad school several months ago, all sorts of good news should surface. If you need to take major exams, you’ll do well.

Your most creative day will be April 20, when your ruler, the Sun, contacts imaginative Neptune. Being exposed to foreign cultures will spark new ideas, so if you can’t travel, at the very least, spend time in museums in April.

Your best day to see a VIP and come across as powerful and assured will be April 27, when Pluto and the Sun will collaborate perfectly.

A contract or deal memo may be offered to you for your signature at the full moon, April 17, but you’ll need to think things over. With Mercury retrograde until April 23, there will be troublesome clauses, but you may, in your haste, overlook them. Wait until at least April 27 to sign.

It is also very possible that you’ll be working on a key publishing or broadcasting project, with a date to reveal all on April 17, plus or minus four days. Not a good idea. You’ll run into delays and all kinds of unexpected problems getting that project out the door, so get that deadline date changed to the end of the week, closer to April 23! Overall, however, this assignment will become a jewel in your crown, so be detailed, be thorough, and later, be proud!

Romantically, like everything else in your chart (career, money, friendship - even health), travel improves your chances for happiness. Jupiter rules your fifth house of true love, and with Jupiter ensconced in your foreign people and places sector until June 4, until then, Cupid will work hardest to help you find love while you are away. The only exception will be if you find yourself in a university or classroom setting, which will also bring equally bright circumstances to meet your one true love.

April 6 may turn out to be an exciting day for romance, when your luck in matters of the heart will keep giving you reasons to be excited.

Once Venus enters fire sign Aries on April 21, you’ll be on a roll (until May 15) and will have to swat your admirers away!

Dates to Note for Leo

Travel and relationships abroad will sparkle brightly all month, starting April 3. Your experiences will be broadening and liberating, as well as profitable. Know your limits however, especially near the start of this trend, as Saturn will ask you to put out a lot.

Mercury will be retrograde April 1 to 23, so don’t sign any contracts until after April 23.

You do best romantically when Venus is touring a fire sign, so watch when Venus is in Aries from April 21 until May 15. This same period is excellent for improving your appearance.

Don’t launch any communications-oriented projects (such as a new website, new TV show, or advertising or publicity campaign) until after April 23.

You have so many reasons to celebrate in March. All of life is starting to turn around for you! This month has a huge emphasis on money, but with Jupiter now in perfect angle to your Sun, you will get a chance at awe-inspiring travel, better health, fantastic career success, FAR better money, a chance at love, and so much more! Let’s take finances first.

For years, you’ve had a series of financial problems come at you, often through no fault of your own. Month after month I wrote your horoscope, sorry that I would have more bad news for you. The culprit over these years was Uranus in your eighth house of other people’s money, a place he took up in 2003 and has remained until now.

A big planet like Uranus would have been enough to handle, but in late 2007, Saturn moved into a very tough financial position for you too, sitting directly opposite Uranus. Saturn began bombarding Uranus and vice versa for two years, and only recently left in July 2010. Things got better, but you were still stuck with surprise-a-minute, rebellious, unpredictable Uranus in your joint financial house. Uranus is not a bad guy when he is in good angle to your Sun, but in a financial house his volatility can be maddening at best, or downright devastating at worse.

On March 11, Uranus will leave Pisces and your eighth house of other people’s money, never to return to this financial house in your lifetime. Uranus takes 84 years to visit all 12 houses of the zodiac, so there’s no chance that you’ll host him in a financial house anytime soon. Your finances will settle down immediately and now, in fire sign Aries, Uranus will be in a far more compatible place for him to be, for he will give you excitement instead of grief. I will get to Uranus in Aries in a moment, and talk a bit about what benefits this portends for you (it’s all good!), but let’s stay on the financial topic, because there is also good news on that front, too.

As the month begins, you will have a new moon in Pisces on March 4 in your house of other people’s money. Accompanying the new moon will be an entourage of planets, including the Sun, Mercury, Mars, and, in his last days in Pisces, Uranus. That is an amazing amount of planetary energy in one house, so you will be very focused on money - perhaps obsessively! A new moon brings opportunity and when the new moon is conjunct Mars, like this one is, it brings action. It would be hard to imagine you finding time for anything BUT money as the month begins. Pisces is a double-bodied sign, the sign of two fishes, so you may have two sources of income coming in or two deals to discuss, possibly with two people.

If you need a line of credit or special loan from a bank, put in your application at the new moon, March 4, or the days that quickly follow. It’s also a superb time to apply for venture capital, a mortgage, refinancing plan, scholarship, or university financial aid. An inheritance may come up that needs to be discussed, or it may be that you are divorcing and will open talks to decide how to fairly divide the marital property. These types of talks come under the umbrella of joint financial matters (or “other people’s money”), for they involve the money of others, whether from banks, credit card companies, family, universities, government (say, in terms of taxes, refunds, or government programs) or other sources. If you are in a court case, it looks like you’ll be concentrating hard on finding the right settlement, or, failing that, preparing for trial. It’s a good time to be talking.

Mars is part of the crowd of planets in this house and his presence suggests that you could be spending more money than usual this month, say, because you are buying a house. Mars’ presence could, alternatively, suggest that you are encountering a dispute about money. If you do disagree, it seems you will have the edge, so keep going - it looks like you can create a good outcome. Just don’t rush.

Talks could stretch out six months or more if you are dealing with a complex matter that needs time to sort out. In that case, your next point to look for news or conclusion would be the September 12 full moon. If your matter is complicated, aim for that full moon for your finish, for it would be quite favorable to you.

This same sector, the eighth house, rules prize winnings too, so you may want to pick up a few raffle tickets or scratch-off lottery tickets this month, but don’t buy too many. The planets are speaking clearly this month, and you will know very soon where you are likely to receive your bounty. If you were interviewing for a new position, would be a good time to discuss benefits with a company.

Now that Uranus is leaving this very same financial sector on March 11, you have every reason to believe that you will have a far more secure future to look forward to in months and years ahead. It gives me such pleasure to tell you this, dear Leo! You are at the end of a very long road! Uranus will move on to Aries, but now that Virgo will get this aspect, it won’t be nearly as severe, as the Virgos won’t have Saturn taunting them in the way you did. Your situation is very, very different and quite unique. Now, you are almost done.

I say “almost done” because there will be some remnant financial problems that could show up on the full moon in Virgo, on March 19, plus or minus five days. A financial matter may come to an end at this point of the month, but with an unexpected twist. This full moon will oppose Uranus, so whatever comes up won’t be something you will likely know about beforehand, nor will you see coming.

There is a saving grace, however, because this full moon is in Virgo, and by some miracle, Virgo’s ruler, Mercury, will be orbiting within four tiny degrees of Jupiter. This indicates that you can forge a happy outcome with a bit of fast thinking. You seem to be in the process of tearing away from one situation and moving toward a completely different situation, and putting a new financial arrangement in place, either now or in time. It’s a good time to do that, so proceed.

I am not sure that I want you to actually give your final word or sign off on important papers with Uranus opposed to the moon, however. I would prefer you do so on March 14 or 15 when Mercury, the planet that rules contracts, will conjoin Jupiter. Those two days will be really superb days for signing. Otherwise, wait until the end of April to do so.

Mercury will be retrograde from March 30 to April 23, so that period will bring on delays and perhaps a change of mind. This is why I feel that you may opt to settle financial matters at the end of April, or May, which is my very favorite month of 2011. May will be a hugely exciting career month for you too, so if you are ending a job and negotiating an exit or severance package, it does not look like you’ll be out of work for long! A much more prestigious position is on the way, and it’s coming very soon!

Uranus will now enter your ninth house for the coming seven years, an intellectual part of the chart that rules open, eclectic thinking. You will become increasingly hungry for new things to learn. You may suddenly decide to go back to college for an advanced degree or take a few college courses you feel you need or would find interesting. You will enjoy debating and delving into politics, religion, culture, and other topics, and you will have a greater need to feed your mind with new ideas to consider. You may become more spiritual, religious, or philosophical now, for the ninth house is the area of the chart where we consider life’s mysteries, including why we were born and what our greatest contribution to the world might be.

Writing and speaking could be part of your future, too, and if you’ve always wanted to create a successful screenplay or be awarded a book contract, it could come to you sometime in the seven years ahead, quite suddenly. If this thought appeals to you, focus on this dream and pretend you only have a year to make your screenplay or book contract materialize. I say, “Pretend you only have a year,” because I want you to work with a sense of urgency.

Travel could also form a big part of your future with Uranus in your ninth house, and when you travel you will now likely go more spontaneously. You might even decide to live abroad for a time, say if you do your junior year abroad or go overseas to work. It’s alternatively possible that you will begin to work with publishing or broadcasting companies abroad without ever having to leave your desk, and you’d still find the experience broadening and exciting.

March 15 would be a gorgeous day to travel for business or pleasure, for Mercury will link to Jupiter, giver of gifts and luck, in your house of foreign and distant travel.

At month’s end, March 28, Saturn and Jupiter will precisely oppose each other, but this time, because these two are not in your financial houses, as they used to be, you won’t feel financial turmoil. Now Jupiter and Saturn are in the houses of thinking and attitude. You seem to be seeing both sides of an issue, which is good, and on or near this date you may change your mind and take a different stance. This is considered a big aspect, for it’s rare - the next time these two dual again, it will be 2029.

Romantically, you will be feeling very affectionate. Planets in the eighth house always encourage expression of love, so you’ll want to have some private time with your partner this month for sure. If single, be careful not to let the physical overshadow the emotional side of the relationship. Sometimes the chemistry is SO good with someone that it’s easy to forget that there is not much going on in any other level of the relationship. When that happens, it all can feel very empty later. Uranus will never be back to this area of your chart in your lifetime, as his orbit takes 84 years to circle every house of the zodiac.

Since 2003, you learned a great deal about creating a more secure base for yourself, and you might be more prone to get financial agreements in writing, with every eventuality covered. The full moon on March 19 will require a final payment and then you’ll be done.

The full moon will be in Leo this month, the only one of the year, falling on February 18. Something of great importance is coming to a culmination, and it will more likely “hit” on the day or just after. Still, I feel Valentine’s Day is close enough to my usual tolerance for full moons, plus or minus four days, so that’s why I feel you could have an astounding experience for Valentine’s Day!

If you were born on August 22, or within four or five days of this date, you will feel the full moon’s effects more than you will the new moons. This will be a key point for you!

Neptune will be prominent this month, so you will have to figure out a way to avoid problems from this planet known to crank out mist and fog and obscure facts. Indeed, Neptune will practically be out of control, as you get closer to the full moon in Leo, February 18.

I would not want you to promise your heart, or your reputation (in terms of a new business association), near the date of that full moon, February 18. Instead, the day to seal the deal (so to speak) would be February 14 when Saturn will help you build a promise that remains solid for a very long time, possibly forever.

Earlier, I also like February 4 and 5, too, for making promises, especially in the business sense, when Mercury, planet of agreements and contracts, and fortunate Jupiter will support one another in a dazzling way. February 4 and 5 are two of the best days of the month.

Later in the month, once Mars enters your eighth house, you will find you need to spend more than usual in the coming weeks. It’s also possible you’ll be motivated to get a better grip on spending during this time and try to cut out waste and spending that doesn’t get you the satisfaction you would normally expect. You might be in the mood to call your credit card company or cell phone provider to see if you can negotiate a better rate. You might want to join a price club where you can buy brands for less than full retail, or attend a lecture about how to make wise investments.

Mars in the eighth house could also bring you all the motivation you need to finish up your tax return. Mars will help you find the energy to get it all done from February 22 to March 31. Good! People who file early usually get to take the most legal deductions and make the fewest errors on their returns, if only because they aren’t rushing.

Late last month, Jupiter, that wonderful benefic planet who just wants to spoil you over and over many times, entered fellow fire sign Aries. This is great news, for whenever Jupiter is in a fire sign, you do well. The Leos born at the end of July are first to feel benefits - you’ve got outstanding favor now! You can take big risks, early born Leos, knowing that Jupiter will be protecting you like a celebrity bodyguard.

I can hear little birds on Twitter tweeting, “What about me! I was born in August!” All will be given gifts in due time. EVERY Leo will have their turn, and no one will be left out. August-born Leos will be fortunate from March through May. The later in August you were born, the later it will come, (say, more near May), but the point is that your time will come! The full moon on February 18 will fall in Leo, the only one of the year in your sign, and this underscores how important a month this will be for you. Have you been trying to settle a housing or property question? In November you may get the most wonderful options you have found so far, and best of all, you be able to set plans in motion at long last. If you need the money to make those plans materialize, the funds will be available, even if you had problems getting the money you need before this month. You will start to see the pace build once you get to the gorgeous new moon, November 6.

Over the past two months, you may have been thinking a lot about moving, buying, selling, or renting a new space, or fixing it up in some appreciable way. You had Mars touring that area over the past seven weeks, from mid-September though the end of October, and only in the past few days, on October 28, did Mars leave.

Mars may have helped you firm up your plans, but you seem to be waiting for the right moment to act. It may come now. Although year’s end can be a hectic time, the universe will be sending you wonderful choices. As an aside, last month I warned not to do any radical changes in your looks, including a radical restyle to your hair or in terms of plastic surgery, until Venus regulated her orbit. She will do that on November 18, but to be safe, act on November 19.

It may be a small window of time, but it’s a critical one, and highly beneficial. December will be a bad month for shopping because Mercury (the planet ruling commerce and also electronics) will be retrograde, and things can go wrong on many levels when Mercury goes into apparent backward motion.

This month I have to report that November 26-27 will NOT be good shopping days, for Mercury will be having an argument with Uranus. In the US these days are Black Friday and Black Saturday, two days when retailers offer sales. This year, these sales will only be for products you don’t want - refrain from shopping. It’s also not at all good for travel. Travel later or earlier, but not on these days.

Mercury will be out of phase from December 10-30, but you will feel the changes sooner, from the start of the month onward. We will also have a major lunar eclipse in late degree of Gemini on December 21, and that will bring even more unexpected developments. This year, the Leo who has done all holiday preparations early will be the happiest one of all. Don’t wait to the last minute to shop or make other holiday plans, not with next month’s aspects.

Professionally, something magical and very exciting may culminate in your career within days of the full moon, November 21 plus or minus five days. This is the best full moon of the year, and when you hear about your career victory, you will want to tell everyone you know. With the full moon at the top of your chart, many people in your industry (and possibly beyond that) will become aware of the honors being given to you now. This full moon November 21 is reward time, dear Leo!

There seems to be a sum of money that will come to you at the full moon November 21, too, making this a double-decker development, and one of your big moments of the year. Thinking about finances, three days this month will be standouts. The first is November 4, when Mercury and Jupiter combine energies. This is a good day to make a sale or to discuss salary matters. The second important date for you, and this one gets a gold star, is November 15 when the Sun, your ruler, will signal good fortune Jupiter. This is a great day to meet with venture capitalists or your banker. The most important day of the month comes November 19, when the Sun signals Uranus, planet of surprises (this time happy ones for you), and again the subject will likely be money. November 15 and 19 are your best days this month.

November 19 is important for another reason. Jupiter has been retrograde and therefore weak since July 23, but will finally turn direct. Watch what happens in the days that surround November 18, the date Jupiter AND Venus (both) will go direct. You are likely to hear good news. I say make your actions on November 19, as I like to add a day beyond the day these planets change direction. If you feel you can’t seem to crystallize a deal no matter what you do, you will be able to do so after Jupiter is working at top speed.

Actually, if you have to sign a contract or launch a new project, product, or service, do so on November 19, not before. If you “give birth” to an endeavor while Jupiter and Venus is retrograde, the profit that develops will never be as good as it could have been if you launched while these two planets were moving direct and giving you their full support. Because November 19 falls so close to a very positive full moon, I don’t feel you will have any problems asking your proposed partners to wait for November 19.

Mars has just entered your fifth house last month on October 28 and is set to stay there until December 7 In that time you will find your artistic self-expression to be some of your best. As you begin October, you’re feeling serious, having come off a major conjunction of the Sun and Saturn on September 30. You are ruled by the Sun, so major conjunctions to the Sun will always affect you strongly. It’s very possible you will be traveling quite a bit this month - at first, short distances, especially just after the new moon October 7. If you do travel in the first part, it seems to a place only a few hours away, and most likely to see family or to complete a property deal. You might want to have your car checked for maintenance, since you will be on the road a lot. Leos born in early August will be on the road quite a bit.

Venus will retrograde from October 8 to November 18. During that time, it would not be wise to make any dramatic changes to your appearance or to your home either. After all, Venus rules good looks and all forms of embellishment.

During the Venus retrograde, don’t make any radical changes to the way you wear (or color) your hair. It would be the worst possible time to do plastic surgery, for Venus rules beauty and you need Venus’ full support. Venus rules fun too, so you would want to wait until late November to throw a major, luxurious party or fundraiser (if you don’t do it on your golden weekend October 2-3). You won’t want to buy jewelry or gems, expensive clothes, or fragrance while Venus is sleeping either.

Because Venus will be in your house of home when she begins to retrograde, buy and accept delivery on any new furniture or accessories you purchase for your home before October 8. Actually, I would like you to make your purchases over the weekend of October 2-3, but if you cannot get immediate delivery and the item would arrive in your hands during Venus retrograde, you may want to ask for delivery after November 18. If it’s expensive furniture, if you receive your home-related purchase during the retrograde, it might not look right in your home environment even though the piece itself may be quite handsome. As long as we are looking ahead, I should drop the other shoe now and tell you that December will be a nightmare for shopping or for making big decisions, launches, or announcements. Mercury will be retrograde all through December, and on top of that, a difficult total eclipse of the moon will arrive on December 21, sure to bring news for just about everyone that will force us all to reprioritize our schedules. This eclipse will be in late degrees of Gemini, a sign that is actually quite favorable to your Leo Sun, but Uranus (surprise) will be acting up and bring many Leos an unanticipated expense that may temporarily throw you into a tizzy.

Knowing how wild December will be this year, plan to shop for holiday gifts in October and November, starting with the children on your list, and then progressing to those few people you love the most and want to please with all your heart. If the item you want to buy embellishes or beautifies (like jewelry), then browse now and buy it November 18-21. If you need to buy a computer, appliance, or other electronic item, you must avoid December at all costs or wait until January. These types of items can be bought any time in October or November. You can buy gift cards any time, but those are not as much fun to give!

One very bad day to buy anything will be November 27, due to Mercury in hard angle to Uranus. That is often a popular Saturday to shop for Christmas presents (for those who do celebrate the holiday), but this year, November 27 will bring unforeseen problems. You’d be smart to stay out of the stores then and don’t buy online then either. I didn’t want to give you this news at the last minute, so I am giving you the whole picture all at once. I know, it’s overwhelming, but we are all in the same boat.

Now let’s return to October and look at other things coming up, all of them good, thank goodness!

In terms of your finances, you have several excellent days due, and I might add, your long-term outlook for money is excellent. In terms of real estate profits, the weekend of October 2-3 will be terrific - you may get a bargain on something you purchase, or make a profit on a sale of property. If you do meet someone new, the chemistry between you would be great, and it may be hard to keep your hands off each other. Try anyway - heat this relationship slowly or it will puff out and sink too quickly, for that is how unpredictable Uranus works. Venus will retrograde, though, from October 8 to November 18. Venus is the planet of fun and love, and when retrograde, is sleeping and withholding her best powers from us mortals below. It’s not considered the best time to make any major initiations in love or to make big changes to your appearance. Put off that engagement, and by all means, don’t do plastic surgery now or have a major change to how you wear your hair.

A note to my readers who live in time zones that are based far (12 hours or more) from the US:

I had a young woman ask me on Facebook if the dates I write each month applied to her, as she lives in Australia. Yes, they do, but you should add one day to the date I give you. The reason is that the dates I give here are for the United States time zones. If you live 12 hours ahead of the USA, then you might need to add one more day to the dates I give you. If I say October 3 will be special, mark your calendar for October 4.

Having said this, you may feel the energy on the dates I mention here as well. All aspects are strongest as they are growing in strength. Once they reach a peak (on the day I give you) they begin to decline. So if you live in South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, or Japan, for example, you will see dates mentioned that are still on their way to peaking.

Generally you can add one day to the dates I list each month, but sometimes the dates I give you will be precise to the day. There are always mathematical tolerances, because astrologers use bell curves. Full moons, no matter where you are located, will have a plus or minus of four days on either side. It all sounds complicated, but it is actually not. You will enjoy your forecast, dear reader, as long as you realize all aspects have a bit of plus or minus associated with all of them, and that includes my readers in the US.

You have just entered the most important month of the year for raising your income and, in time, for starting to increase your professional status at work. All parts of your chart will work together to help you, so if you’ve been frustrated with how your finances look, with a little effort, this month could mark a change for the better.

At the start of the month, you have a friendly new moon, September 8, which will appear in your second house of earned income. You only get one a year, and it sets the tone for the twelve months to come. This new moon will be your signal to ask for a raise or to see what other positions in your industry are opening that you might aim for by making the right moves. Mercury is the ruler of this second house of income, and this planet will receive a particularly sweet beam from Pluto at the time of the new moon from your house of work projects.

This means that if you are self-employed, or are an artist or actor, a special assignment may now come up that will prove to be very lucrative. This would not be the best time to make a career move, so be patient.

Besides, Jupiter will be retrograde until, ironically, the same day, November 18, too. You would be best to bide your time. Jupiter rules profit, so whether you are employed or self-employed, you will be in the best shape in your career by late November.

That’s not to say you shouldn’t look for ways to increase your income now - you should. It’s just that your methods of increasing the gold coins in your coffers will come in through assignments, and not the traditional way, by winning a better job and bigger title. Not yet anyway - all things will come in due time, and for you, the money comes now, the title comes in November.

Your ability to get the attention of VIPs will be enhanced by the move of Mars into your tenth house of fame and honors, from September 14 to October 28. Mars will very effectively help you lay the groundwork for your ascent in November. Why November? In order to grasp the prize spot, you will also need the help of Jupiter turning direct on November 18 and moving close to Uranus (both working to improve your finances further) and the full moon, November 21, to crystallize all your efforts and get you the final offer.

Leading up to November, your key professional month, you will also have help in early October, when Venus will work closely with Mars, boosting your reputation to all-time highs. As you see, you have half the solar system working for you!

Interesting positions of responsibility take time to be awarded, for they often require a lot of interviews. If you start your career campaign a few days after the new moon September 8, you will be in sync with the universe. You’ve really a beautiful chart for career success, so be patient until all the pieces of your puzzle are in place, on or near November 21.

Ironically, in the USA, Thanksgiving falls on November 24, just three days later and well within the plus or minus four days area of influence that comes with any full moon. If you are American and celebrate Thanksgiving, you will have lots of news to share with family and friends at the table as the Thanksgiving turkey is sliced and served, and lots to be thankful for, too. Keep this thought in mind, dear Leo. You are moving into exciting, very positive times.

At the start of this month, keep in mind Mercury will be retrograde, a holdover from August that will continue until September 12. There’s some evidence that you may need to sign an agreement or contract (I will come back to this idea later) and if so, you must wait until after Mercury goes direct mid-month to make the deal work. In the first half of September, perfect your strategy and do some deep thinking. In the second half, you can start to initiate plans.

Mercury is retrograde in your financial house, so if checks to you have been running late, you now know why - blame Mercury. You will see those checks show up in the second half of September, but keep sending follow-up “second notice” statements anyway. It can’t hurt to do so!

Overall, your financial outlook has never been better. For almost three years you had to deal with Saturn in your second house of income, and Saturn is known to limit all that it touches. The last new moons in your income sector in 2008 and 2009 had a heavy Saturn presence, so if you found it hard to raise your income, that would be understandable. Saturn was holding sway over your chart, and no matter what you did, it was hard to see a substantial rise in income.

That problem has been resolved now that Saturn moved into another part of your chart in late July. Saturn will no longer contain your abilities to increase your income. Saturn showed you how to do more with less, and over the past three years you learned those lessons well. As Sophie Tucker, a songstress / actor (1884-1966) once said, “I’ve been rich and I’ve been poor. Rich is better.” I bet you agree.

There’s more help on the way, too. Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, is heading back to your eighth house of credit and financial obligations on September 9 and will be orbiting close to Uranus already there, so soon you should see an up-tick in your financials.

Here’s a key date that may bring big financial news to celebrate: September 18, when Jupiter (generosity) and Uranus (surprises) link. This day is so strongly favored for you that I will even suggest you buy a charity raffle ticket or a scratch-off lotto ticket. You need a contest that chooses the prize September 18. Don’t spend much, though - your luck will stem from a source you would never expect. Be happy, dear Leo, because I suspect good news will come and find you one way or another, even if you do nothing but hide under the bed.

I wish I could say this month won’t have even one little cloud in the sky, but it will, on September 21, when Uranus, now back in Pisces, will oppose the Sun. At that time, both financial houses will be brought into the conversation. It’s remarkable your best financial day (September 18) would be followed by the hardest one (September 21) and I am sorry to have to report this.
